Kīpuka Kuleana has teamed up with Huliauapaʻa, a non-profit organization whose mission is to grow Hawaiʻi’s communities through culturally based forms of innovative learning, leadership development, and collaborative networking in wahi kūpuna stewardship. Huliauapaʻa partnered with the Office of Hawaiian Affairs (OHA) to create this initiative to build community capacity in caring for Kuleana and ʻOhana Heir Property Lands.
This initiative will be conducted as a four-part online educational community empowerment series operated through Zoom. The intent for these workshops is to cover as many aspects of this kuleana as possible.
Each workshop will provide insight on topics that include, but are not limited to 1) the importance of ʻāina research, 2) overview of property taxes, 3) foundations of access, easements, and right of entry, and 4) estate planning.
As we continue to develop this four-part workshop series, supplemental handouts, resources, and copies of presentations are being developed and produced by the Huliauapaʻa team for your viewing. All of these materials are housed here on the new Kīpuka Kuleana website. To keep the privacy of all of our created resources, you will need to register a log-in to the site. These resources will be updated weekly.
